Engine Oil - New Question

I'm sure this has been talked about a lot, but I stopped in Richardson Auto Machine today and was talking to Bill Richardson. He builds pretty amazing race car engines and rebuilds old stock cars, mostly Chryslers (GTX's, Road Runners, with some added real old (1930's type cars) with pretty incredible engines - 600 - 700 horsepower etc. His shop is immaculate and he was working on about 8-10 cars from all over the country.
Anyway, I noticed that he had some bottles of Pure Power! Motor Oil on a shelf and asked about it. He said it was the best he had ever seen. It's not a synthetic and he says with changing the oil filter every 3-4000 miles this stuff will last easily 10K miles. He has a dynamo(?) in the shop to test engines using it and says it actually effects HP and gas mileage. Part of this he attribued to its having a high TBN number, somethign like 10-12, which measures PH (with 7 being neutral and lower than 7 being acidic.
Anyway, this guy's shop and product are pretty impressive and I thought I'd ask for this board's opinion if anyone has any experience. I have a relatively new 98 CSE and want to take the best care of it.
Thanks to all who answered my earlier questions of about 2 weeks ago.
I obviously don't get to this site that regularly.
