Well, my Aero hubs have done 170K miles, unless they were changed before I bought it at 112K, which I doubt. Having said that, I'm not comfortable that mine was running in the same condition as yours for quite a while before I sussed the problem. No noise, though, but I think I'll replace the bearing at some point in the near future. I'll also be checking mine again when I fit the Ferodo pads this week.
I like to buy tools that I think I'll use again. However, £2 for the torque wrench for a day sounds like good value for money. I doubt I've used mine on 25 separate days yet. The workshop facilities sound really useful for someone like me with a garage only just big enough to hold the car and not big enough to work on it as well. I assume it's local to you, though, so perhaps a bit far from me. Depending on what needs doing and how well-equipped the workshop is, I reckon it could easily be worth £15 an hour. I could have done my exhaust in a couple of hours (instead of 5) with a ramp, at a cost of £30? Sounds good to me.
