I have been saying here for at least the past 2 years that I think there is something wrong with the ACC units in the 1993 MY cars. Although the basis for my conclusion comes only from the reports here, and not any kind of real study, I bet a serious survey of ACC failures would bear out my impression. 1992's also seem to show an increased rate of failure compared to other years (but not nearly like 1993), so I wonder if the units I am complaining of started shipping at the end of the 1992 MY production cycle.
Recalibration will probably solve your problem. Push Auto and Vent <-> at the same time to run the recalibration routine. You must push them together at the same time. You cannot push and hold one, and then push the other. It's more like tapping controls on a video game. I have to recalibrate my 93 at least every other month, and I almost never even drive the car.
