I bought the car a few month ago. it had 101k on the odemeter. The speedo didn;t work and thusly the ode didn't work. The title said 97k couple of years ago. The car had a turbo that blew the second day I had it. the wastegate was F****ed to the point the thing would hit the fuel cut off or maybe the over pressure switch. The auto tranny (which I loath so much) went after a month. I was lucky;
1. I had an extra turbo
2. I had the 86' that I killed (best kill of my life BTW) for the tranny conversion.
So I am not sure about the exact "age" of the car. The body is perfect. No rust and I am in MA. The engine is smoother than my friend Kyle's 91k T. \
The tranny although older could be not as old as 86. When I took of the tranny the flywheel had yellow letter "1986 9000 turbo" the kinda of writing that salvage yards add to label. So perhaps it was replaced. I know the engine on my 86 (the one I finished) was not the original engine. Also the 86 didn;t have a functional turbo for the last 10k at least, so very little torque went thru the tranny.
My personal goal for perfomance are very simple:
1. increase low end torque
2. increase hadling
3. increase mpg
Best Regards
Roman
