If you have the alternator that has only bad bearings or brushes and you have replaced it with a new, then all you need to change:
Disassemble the alternator.
Take the rotor incl. the bearings to the service shop. Dunnot know what you have over there, but here we have specialised auto electricity shops for that (they do all: fuel injection, batteries, alternators, etc. etc.)
Ask the quotation how much to replace the bearings (Both ends) and slip ring. If over the budget then forget it (compare to the price of rebuild/new alt.)
Bearings (both ends). Can be done by yourself, but most probably it doens't cost much extra to do them in the shop while doing the slip ring.
Slip ring needs lathe to make it smooth. Depends on the case if the ring needs to be replaced or if only smoothening is enough. Smoothing is needed in any case...
Get a new brush bridge/voltage regulator.
Put things back together and you as almost as good as a new alternator.
If the windings are gone, then you needs to pay more $$$. Same shop will help...
