Daren,
the check-valves are easy to fix. Remove the valves from the car and work on them in-doors. At the base of each valve, both the T and L shaped ones, the end comes off the round base of the valve. I prised mine off with a carefully applied knife blade. Use the blade to open the joint-line and push the end off. Inside you'll find a black plastic valve on a spring in the base and the valve seat in the T/L shaped bit. The valve seat must be clean and smooth, as must be the top of the valve, for a seal to be made. I found decomposed rubber and hardened grease inside mine, which was all carefully cleaned out. I lubricated the valve, spring and valve seat with vaseline, not grease. Re-assemble and test by blowing through the fluid inlet leg. You should NOT be able to blow through it as the valve is too strong for lung-power to open. If you have achieved this, the valves are OK. Re-fit and test.
