Front Camber out of spec...

Finally got an answer to why my car pulls to the left a lot, after having 3 front-end alignments done.
It turns out my right-side front camber is out of the acceptable range by 1 full degree. That's actually quite a bit. I'm sure this occurred from my curb-kissing mishap back in Feb. I've recently replaced both end-links which were bent pretty good, as well as all bushings in the front-end suspension (mix of rubber and poly). It doesn't seem to be affecting my tire wear (since I've driven this way for close to a year now), however, but it is annoying to have that constant feel of the car wanting to drift to the left-hand side.
Since camber is non-adjustable on the 9K, it was suggested by the mechanic to replace the bottom of the two bolts holding the strut assembly to the steering knuckle arm with a thinner bolt, to allow the strut assembly to move somewhat for adjustment. If this doesn't work, he then said to try drilling the hole larger for the movement (meaning, I'd have to drill through the steering knuckle arm as well).
Does this sound okay? Since my car only has 59K on it, the struts have a lot more life left to them, and if I was to replace one, I should probably replace them as a pair, right? I'm looking to do the thinner-bolt idea, but is that safe (don't want it snapping while I'm cruising down the road)?
Also, it seems the rear toe is off, and was told that only a dealer can correct this (using shims). Is this a good fix for that problem, or is there another remedy when the rear toe is off?
TIA
Joe
