Headlights dim when Compressor kicks on - Normal?

It only happens when Ventilation system on AUTO, so I assume it's the compressor draw that does it. The lights dim for less than a second and return to full brightness. It doesn't happen when I turn on butt warmers tho. I did take it in for a checkup and the Belt Absorber, Tension pulley and two other small pulleys are recommended for replacement. Could the drag from the compressor be stressing the serpentine and the pulleys allow slippage? OR, is there another plausible, more predictable cause?
Thanks,
Todd
