The sensor gasket is just an O-ring. You can test the sensor with an ohmmeter or a test light. With the oil level at the Max line, you should have no continuity (no connection-test light off or infinte ohms) between the two pins. Drain the oil. You should then have continuity between the two pins (test light on or low ohms). Remove the 3 bolts holding sensor and pull it out (the bolts require a 10 mm socket). Remove the O-ring from the sensor and take it to the auto parts store. Have them match up the O-ring with a new one. I should be about a dollar. Clean the hole with brake cleaner, put the new O-ring on the sensor with a little Vasalene to make it fit easier. Fix the wires with a length of wire and some barrel crimp pins.
