I've been tweaking around with the cable lately frequently, so I know what it does in which position. Right now it is as per spec, which in the end is the best position after all.
I know I have to get to the a-spring sooner or later, but other than that, it also does sometimes seem to be unsure about the other shift points.
Compared to the '92 2.3T it shifts early: 2-3 @ 42km/hr, 3-4 @ 67km/hr. But then again, it has a different torque converter. And if you floor it, it will go to 130Km/hr (over 80m/hr) in 2nd.
Yesterday I had the experience that it seemed it was pulling away from the lights in second or third. Barely moved initially.
Tried shifting manually, which works ok ( but also a bit rough), however, since the fault is not a permanent one, it is hard to compare.
