You didn't mention which engine/year you have. That helps.
In the 2.3 non-turbo, the oil filter is at the front of the engine. In the 2.0 turbo, it's at the back of the engine.
For the turbo cars, I jack up the front of the car, and put a jack stand under the right front suspension mounting point. I then remove the RF tire. The oil drain plug is at the back of the pan. With the tire off, it's easy to remove the plug, let the oil drain, and put the plug back in. I then slide the catch pan back a little, and reach through the hold in the fender inner liner to unscrew the oil filter. I drop the oil filter through the hole in the support members under the engine (into the pan holding the oil). Refit filter, put tire back on, jack car down, refill with oil.
For the cars where the filter is in the front, I jack up the front of the car a little, and slide a jack stand under the suspension mount. No need to get the tire off the ground, or remove the tire. I slide the oil drain pan under the oil pan, and lying on the ground, reach behind the right front tire and unscrew the oil drain plug. It would be easier if I took the tire off, but I don't. With the front of the car a little higher, I can reach under the front air dam and remove and replace the oil filter.
I don't like using ramps because I always seem to have issues with air dams, and the ramp being in the wrong place. And they only work on cars with tires still on. Since I need a good jack and good adjustable jack stands to do work when the tires are off, why have two sets of tools, especially when one of them (ramps) take up A LOT of space?
