Keith,
Thats a hard question to answer because I didnt do the rebuild to do it, I HAD to. Apparently, sludge had built up in the engine (the previous owner must have been an idiot and not changed it or used trash oil) to the point where I got an oil change and on start-up, I scuffed two pistons. So the car started making a loud knocking noise, and the rest is history. Was it worth it? I dont know, I know it killed my check book though. The noise is gone and the car sounds a lot quieter in general and feels much tighter and smother, I will say that. I havent pushed it yet (another 300 miles) so I dont know how performace has changed. It feels great, and I love that I have her back. If you can do it, or have the money to do it, I think its worth it. My machanic said that if I had waited a couple more weeks, I would have been putting a new engine in. She should go another 80K now (I hope or my wife said me and the car are in big trouble)
