It depends a bit. You might be OK with just 1 litre, but I think I used a bit more. I did the clutch too at the same time. Fluid is cheap, though. Buy it in smaller (than 1 litre) bottles, it's hygroscopic, i.e. it draws moisture from air and it has a limited shelf time after the seal's been broken. Buy only sealed containers.
If you have ABS, remember to have the ignition on to open the valves when bleeding rear wheel cylinders.
