I agree with Tapani. A lot depends on how old the fluid is, and how long it takes to get a clear stream with no air bubbles. Older, gummed up lines will trap more air bubbles, requiring more fluid.
I count on 2 liters to do all four wheels. I usually use less than 2 liters but more than one. As T says, it's cheap, so I run a little more through just to make sure I get all the air and old fluid out.
Any good quality DOT 4 will do. That's the whole idea of a standard - meet the requirement, and it'll do the job. Is BMW DOT4 any better than other DOT4s? Maybe, maybe not. But it says DOT 4, so it'll work.
