I have been battling a TCS demon for a month now with no hope. My car is a 1993 Aero 5-spd, 118,000miles.
Here is what has been replaced so far,
1. safety valve and black and white in-line thingy(sorry dont remember what this is)
2.Throttle body(was used off of a donor car also a 93 but a cse i believe)
here is the series of events~
Work is being done by my girlfriends dad who is a mechanic(that knows saabs pretty well). He replaced the valves and throttle body, and took it to Saab dealer to get codes cleared. on drive over to dealer, the car drove fine, no limp home or any other problems. The car gets hooked up to the Tech-II and gets reset, they try to start the car and nothing happens. No starter, no noises except for Climate control starting and brakes charging and those things but it will not even turn over. So my gf's dad thinks that the dealer fried the TCS computer somehow by hooking it up(which I agree with) but dealer doesn't think so. My gf's dad went and got the computer out of the donor car but he said that they are not the same, sometime in the past, the ecu in my car was replaced with a new ecu. The dealer thinks it needs another Tb. Now you have mentioned before that when replacing the Tb, you need to update to gold connectors, this was not done, but the car didn't have gold connectors in place and the TB is not the new style so it isn't gold either. But could that be our problem? would you think this problem is the computer or the throttle body, because everyone that is working on my baby is stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks~
Chris
