I'd consider taking the vehicle to an AC guy and have him remove
the R134-A. Removing the heater core is that much easier if you
can just disconnect the lines that run into the evaporator and just
remove the whole evaporator housing. There's only two screws that hold the housing in place and the AC lines are secured to the evaporator with only one 10mm screw. Once the evaporator is out of the way, it's a real easy matter to get access to the left side clip that holds the blower motor. The right side clip is no problem. Just make
sure you have plenty of light to direct at the area, which tends to
be quite darkened - working blind on these things tends to result
in broken clips. I use a long flat-bladed screwdriver to prise the tab
on one side while pulling on the same side of the motor. Just pull
enough so that it breaks free from the tab, then do the other side.
