Took the '92 9kt (105K miles) into the dealer yesterday to reset SRS light and check out a non-working cruise control. Reset of the SRS was straight forward. However, the tech pulled fault codes to diagnose the cruise and said it told him the electronic throttle body was faulty. Keep in mind this car ran beautifully except no cruise before this dealer visit. This is an ETS car with TCS and a new throttle body is $~700+ bucks and quite likely a replacement more robust ECU is required per the tech. An expensive fix for cruise. The tech cleared the fault code, recalibrated the ECU and test drove the car. Still no cruise and NOW no boost which is a surprise. When I took the car in, boost was fine.

Questions:

1. Will it harm the car to drive it with little to no boost? (I sure miss my boost). Original wastegate wireseal still in place.

2. Is it possible the recalibration via his TechII had the wrong software which took away my boost? Any other insight to the re-cal results?

3. Exactly what calibration equipment (TechII I believe), cableing, version software, etc. are required to properly calibrate this particular ECU? I want to locate an Indy that can help but want to ask him upfront if he has the proper tools, version, etc.

4. If I unplug and reseat the ECU connector (dream fix) will the ECU need calibration.

5. Any ideas on the cruise? It does act like a "computer" problem in that the cruise will engage 25-29mph and then suddenly let go above this speed in 3rd & 4th gear only. All the simple things have been done, peddle switches, new vaccum lines, bleedervalve and solinoid.

Sorry for 20 questions but I can put a calibrated stick on the gas peddle before letting go of the bucks the dealer wants to fix this cruise. Gotta have my boost back though. TIA
