shawn, it should close tight. if the rubber is cold after the roof has been open, mine will not seal well.
additioinally, if the roof was disasembled sometimes people don't put it back in the correct position...so when the relay does the "stop" it's at the end. regardless it should allow you "rehit" the button to get it all the way.
do you have a noticable gap when you look at from the top? as it should be snug.
pulling apart the sunroof takes a nice long warm day and some patience to understand the system, but i recommend any saab that age to disasemble from the top side and reclean tracks, wires, relays and such...
email me personally if you have any questions. i've done my sunroofs several times, but have never documented it.
