Hi,
I have a 1993 9000cs (Aust spec car). Car is not Turbo charged but does have Direct injection. Car is an automatic with 136k km (about 84k miles) & serviced regularly.
The car has started missing intermittently. It's usually when under load (2.5k to 3k rpm) & at idle. Happens most often on hotter days.

I've looked through various posts on the subject & as a result checked the following:
- spark plugs. replaced 16k km ago (10k miles), gap ok (0.88mm) & look ok.
- noticed no visibile grease (dielectric or other) around the plug boots (I will put some in today). There are no cracks around the plug boots.
- Turned the DI over, removed the torx screws from the black plastic cover (with 4 plug boots) & removed. Could now see 4 whitish translucent plastic tubes. Noticed the following: tube for cylinder 1 & 2 were full (90 - 95%), tube for cylinder 3 is 40 - 50% full & tube for cylinder 4 is about 5 - 10% full. There was no visible cracks or spilt oil around the translucent tubes or near the spark plugs.

My questions are:
1) Is the DI casette bad? There are no cracks but there is obviously oil missing in some of the translucent tubes.
2) Can I add oil to these tubes? If so what oil & how?
3) If the DI is bad, will adding dieletric grease help?
4) Does the dielctric grease directly help the DI to function properly or does it serve the purpose of improving the life of the DI?
5) Finally, the black plug boots internal diameter is quite small (maybe 1.5 cm orless than 0.5 inch). I can't even get my finger in it so how do I smear dieletric greese in them? I can squeaze some in but it may block the contacts.

Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks, Bryan
