I'm not a mechanic, but I happen to have exactly the same car, a '93 9000CS, and it happens to have a misfiring problem similar to yours. In my case, trading DI cassettes hasn't helped, nor has changing the ECU, or doing the plugs or applying dielectric grease. These misfires can be quite mysterious in origin, apparently.
If you at all suspect the DI cassette, best bet is to trade with a good one and see if that helps.
Other than that, you might think about doing the cheap stuff--replace air and fuel filters, check vacuum hoses and replace if necessary--before you really get into it. Replacing the air filter helped mine, but it didn't solve the problem completely.
You might check back to posts under my moniker to look at the excellent suggestions made by many on this board.
Best of luck, and let us know what happens!
