I did this on my '96 cse (UK). Its very simple as long as you don't want to use the amp with the new head unit. (A new head unit will probably have as good or better amp built-in). If your model is the same as mine, you need to buy a dedicated Saab 9000 radio wiring kit from a car hi fi shop ( about £9 I think). It consists of 2 bunches of wires with Saab wiring loom and Din connectors at each end. All connections are behind the head unit. Simply unplug the connectors which go from the wiring loom to the amp and use the kit to connect from the wiring loom straight to the head unit. 1 set of connectors is for power the other is for audio. The amp is bypassed and is isolated from the power sysyem.
