A lot of tranny shops have never worked on the ZF tranny in the 9000. The last thing you want is to find a shop that's never seen one, but is willing to use yours to learn. As to a Lee Miles, AAMCO, or other chain, each one is individual. Some have experienced mechanics, others have guys with only three sizes of hammer in the toolbox. Usually every place has both.

Go in and ask. If they've done work on ZF's before, and are still willing to work on them, that's a good sign.
As to the dealer, most dealers don't work on automatics. They either treat them light light bulbs - remove tranny, insert new tranny, or farm their tranny work out. It'll be cheaper to find a shop that works on them.

My suggestion is to call Eriksson Transmissions and ask them who they deal with in your area when it comes to the Saab ZF. Interview anybody you talk to. The ZF is very tricky, and not for first-timers.
