My daughter has spent her winter break from college testing the handling ability of an 88 9K turbo under diverse conditions. Here is the scoop. She left for work at 6:00 AM. She got bout 10 miles away and knew the car was handling funny. She got off the highway and checked out the car and couldn't find anything. She got back on the highway and drove back home. She called her mother and explained the situation. My wife told her it sounded like a flat tire. My daughter assurred her it wasn't as she knew the feeling of driving on a flat. (After all, she had that experience two weeks earlier when she drifted onto the shoulder of the road and struck a pothole, causing damage to the sidewall of her nearly new right front tire.) She agreed to go out and check and returned to the phone with "It's not flat, it's GONE!!". I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the results. The next day I drove home via the highway and checked for pieces of the tire. I found it (in it's enTIREty) leaning against the guardrail about 4 miles from home. She will never live this one down. I love her to death. This is a girl with 4 years of driving experience and a 3.95 GPA student at UCONN. A perfect candidate for public transportation. I have pictures if anyone needs a chuckle.
