Hi Marc,
I had the same problem with my 9k, '92, 140k miles. The radiator connector where the hose is fitted got broken into pieces. What I did was to patiently paste the broken plastic with an epoxy. But I cut a can so that I could place it inside the neck of the radiator. This will also make sure no piece of plastic would get inside the radiator. This will only take at least an hour or two and you can re-fit the hose but make sure you don't tighten the clamp too much. As long as there is no leak that would be fine. I had mine done more than a year ago and still working ok. Cost me $2 for the epoxy and still running fine. I remember there was another guy who did the same some months back and he is happy with the result. Good luck!!!
