>> The fine UPF 53 (Delco Gold) has been discontinued since about a year ago and is no longer available.
I've purchased these in the past six months from Pep Boys. At my next opportunity I'll check if they're still there.
>> The "conventional" PF 53 available in the US *used to be* the same English made filter that Saab carries in its spare parts network - that is no longer the case. If they're no longer available I don't know what I'll move to; probably Mobil 1 or Pure One.
Someone reported here some time back that some examples of the PF-53 sold here were still English, but I'm not sure of the details. It should be in the archives. Anyway, I've never seen any description of the differences between the two.
>> The Purolator "Pure One" was the "second best" filter in Delco's competitive analysis, after the Delco Gold (which is no longer available). The Amsoil filter was not included in the test.
What about Mobil 1? They are readily available here, or were the last time I looked. I've been using the UPF-53's for several years.
