The vascillating idle is probably your IAC valve. Just hand tighten
the torx screws on the DI cassette - probably less torque than you'd
put to the spark plugs. Base boost could be a result of the waste-gate rod falling off the waste-gate. If you look between
the turbo and exhaust manifold, you can see the rod. You can
grab hold of the rod from above but let the engine cool before trying to
grab it. If it feel wobbly, then you'll have to have it placed back onto
the waste-gate, which is best approached from under the vehicle.
Usually, the small clip that holds the rod onto the waste-gate
disintegrates with age........with the waste-gate connected and full-boost, I'd be concerned about a 16 year-old driving it - it's
a real rocket-sled!
