Not sure if my low speed fan is coming on prpoperly. 90 9k Turbo auto. The fan comes on when you first start the car. It also comes on and off on occasion when car is idling, but doesn't seem to stay on long. The other day my car was running hot in traffic (about 3/4's on the guage). Pulled over, and neither fan was running. Eventually, the high speed came on and the temp went down. Then highspeed would cycle on and off as the temp went up and down, but the low speed was not running. Could some one tell me when a properly functioning low speed fan should be running and for how long? i.e. when should low speed fan typically kick in and out and for how long. Also, I read on this board that you can test the low fan relay by plugging in your fog light relay in its place. is this true? as I don't want to ruin/melt/blow anything, and my fog light relay has one less prong than the fan relay. How can I diagnose and fix the problem? Thanks in advance for your input fellow Saabers.
