The 89's have ABS if I'm not mistaken and they require particular care in bleeding. In fact I believe they do better being pressure bled (I can't verify this as I've not pressure bled before). I read in a BMW manual recently that pressure bleeding on their system was the only way recommended, not sure if this would apply to Saab's. If you have fluid coming out the resevoir cap it sounds like your getting pressure in their that doesn't belong since once you've topped off the resevoir your fluid should only go one way, to the brakes, and not back into the resevoir. I would certainly ask your mechanic about this one.
