Need to replace rotors ASAP, what to go with?

I am in need of 4 new rotors and am trying to decide whether to upgrade or not. I've checked this BB (and performance) and haven't been convinced either way. I have a 1995 9000 Aero 5 speed which is driven hard but not tracked and the brakes are not worked too often other than the occassional mountain drive. So, I would like to know what rotors I should go with to get the best consistent street/highway stopping at a good price. Input on brand and design (plain, cross drilled, slotted) would be greatly appreciated. Also, any ideas on pads? I would like to know what kind of experience people have had with the products. Thanks a ton
