As Lu said, not much of anything to know other than how to drive on snow and ice.

There are a lot of tires out there now that make it possible to drive all year long on the same ones (without having to change over to snow tires). In fact, the ones I have, Dunlop SP5000 Asymmetricals, are awesome in the dry, and handle light snow very well. If you do go the route of switching to snows in the winter, be warned that they handle much differently than normal/all-seasons. Most cannot be driven on faster than 75 without a floaty feeling. They also do not corner as well (if at all!).

Since I live on the coast in CT, I get very little snow, if any (except for this year which was pretty tough). Most of it turns to rain since I'm so close to the water (Long Island Sound). I do not know anything about Philadelphia,PA and how much snow they get. I would assume enough since that city is inland. Because of that, you may have to consider snow tires since the tires I spoke about previously really are meant to be used in light snow only.

When winter has come and gone, I usually take the car to the automatic car wash to have the undercarriage sprayed down, removing any road salt. Saabs are pretty good at avoiding rust, so you shouldn't worry too much. The only stuff that would get affected would be the exhaust.

You'll also have to make sure you use the right coolant mixture to avoid freezing the block. You'll also have to use windshield washer fluid that is anti-freezable (is that a word?). Your battery will also be used/drained harder during the cold winter months' starting.
