In a thread I started a few days ago, Andre posted this message:
"Bleeding/flushing does virtually nothing to clean out the crud in the Calipers.. If you've opened up a Caliper after a "flush" you would know this all too well;-) Dunno about the ABS innards... hopefully the procedure at least 'cleans' that out.
Cheap disposable Plastic Syringe is a V effective Bleeder tool.. almost free too."
Great idea, and syringes are good, cheap tools -BUT- I would like
more info from anyone who has done this....please.
Big syringe ? Small ? Hoses ? Connected at the caliper (I presume...)
I have used the little bottle deal that connects to the bleeder
nipple for a while now - but only on my old truck lately - not
on a 9K - and now that I know it is important, I would like to
make sure I get it understood before I screw something up badly !
With all the mention I have seen of 'pressure bleeders' and the
need of having the mechanic do this job - it seems important to
get a thorough understanding of it.
Thanks !
