I am loosing antifreeze - a whole expansion tank volume in a week. I just changed the major hoses - upper, lower and expansion - with original Saab hoses (however I did not change the heater hoses or the throttle body hoses). The new hoses do not leak, but I have a small drip mark under the car in my garage - may be a tablespoonful max. per day - quantitiy doesn't seem to be enough to add up to one expansion tank volume per week. The drip is directly under the water pump.
There is NO smell of antifreeze or misting in the interior of the car and the upper hose is stiff with pressure when the engine is warmed up.
Could this be a HEAD GASKET LEAK where the antifreeze is leaking into one of the cylinders but NOT INTO THE OIL (I can find no frothing or contamination in my oil)??
I do have another, possibly related, intermittent symptom: the car looses power or is sluggish for two three minutes and then returns to full power (happens when cold or warmed up). The sluggishness happens about two or three times a day. Boost remains high even during the sluggishness. All ignition components are faultless (new plugs, new DI cassette). Original water pump & fuel pump.
