It seems that Andrew takes every opportunity to bash the Deluxe he can get. However he has never used Deluxe, "only heard a rumor from his supplier".

I HAVE used the Metalmaster. It can squeal too. But the thing I found objectionable was the inability to stop first thing on a winter morning. I know that Andrew doesn't believe this, but even Metalmaster says they take longer to warm up. Mine were actually scary. The pads were well bedded in and used for 3-4000mi but still did not work cold. Switched to Deluxe and they worked well from the start. Same rotors and everything else. Go figure.

A number of other Saabnet users have also had good success with the Deluxe. A couple have mentioned the same problem with the MM. I think the MM is a fine brake. It just did not work well on my 9000 when cold.

That is a sample of one. Maybe the MM does not like the original rotor, perhaps it is something else. Who knows from a sample of one.

I guess what I'm objecting to Andrew, is you bashing the Deluxe with a sample of zero. At least I've used the Deluxe on 4 different Saabs, and found them to be very good. Push the MM if you like, but don't put down a pad you have no experience with, when others who do have experience have not had problems, and find it to be a fine pad.
