I learned that static friction is greater than kinetic friction. Also, I fail to see why tire size enters into this static vs. kinetic friction argument. First of all, I very much doubt that the rear wheels will lock up in a turn, unless you are on your brakes (BTW, rear brakes are smaller because weight is transferred to the front during braking). Second of all, front wheel drive cars are known for understeer, especially Saabs. Congratulations on your fun driving, but the engineering details are different from what you claim.
