Back in winter I noticed that the coolant in my '88 9000CD 2.0t looked really messy, with oily layer on top of liquid in coolant expansion tank. The amount of gunk in coolant didn't seem to much increase during spring, and I had it flushed. Now, after two weeks of driving with the new coolant it seems to have developed an oily layer in tank again.

If it's oil, there's not a lot of it - just enough to make the surface of liquid look oily. There were no exhaust fumes in coolant when testing it before liquid change. There also didn't seem to be water in engine oil. If it comes from head gasket, it must be pretty small leak. Are there such things as small head gasket leaks? Don't they usually go off a bit more spectacularly?

Does anyone have ideas if it could be anything else leaking? Can oil get into coolant in turbo cooling system or something like that?
