Expansion valve for R134 can be used for R12, but I'm not to sure about the other way around. Usually what most suppliers sell today is a valve for R134. P/N 4319158
To make it easy, use only R134 for conversion. Don't bother with all these different exotic blends that shops try to sell for less money than R12.
I have never seen any problems with the pressure monitor on the older 9000 that I have converted to R134. And I'm pretty sure that your 92 already have the pressure monitor that is also installed in the 93 model (R134).
What I suggest is to replace the A/C manifold hose at the same time (if your car have the manifold), otherwise the two hoses coming out of compressor. One low pressure and one high pressure. Those are the first to start to leak, and if original they might go bad with the extra pressure of R134.
