Automatic 2.3s always have a lot of idle shake, the automatic loads the engine down at a speed where the balance shafts aren't very effective. 5-speed cars are much smoother.
I did the one-urethane-one-OEM-rubber mount swap in the dogbone, and don't find it any worse than it was originally. I was warned off of doing urethane at both ends of the dogbone.
For similar reasons, the lower mounts are OEM, and I wouldn't use anything else in the lowers.
Aftermarket loves polyurethane 'cause it is molded at room temperature, much cheaper to tool for than rubber. But it's not always the right choice, and 'urethane' from one vendor may be much harder (higher Shore A durometer) than 'urethane' from another.
