Hi,
Geez... see, that's what I was afraid of. That something is missing. I know that the car had suffered some sort of a front-end collision at one time. The left headlight-wiper doesn't work, and when I first got the car I found that the outside temperature sensor was mounted INSIDE the engine bay. Yes it really screwed-up the ACC, until I figured-out what was going-on and tie-wrapped the sensor to the airdam. I could not find the original mounting bracket. So it's entirely likely that things weren't put back quite right after the body-shop fixed whatever happened.
The car runs fine, as far as I know. There's plenty of boost, and I can hear the waste-gate valve release pressure (psssht) when I take my foot off the gas.
I'm not familiar with the 'hooter' BOV valve, or what it's supposed to do, or that solenoid you're talking about. I will look in my owner's manual for the picture.
