A different way to bleed the clutch......

I posted earlier about a plumbing problem.
No clutch and brake fluid on the tail shaft and
a rubber hose with a clamp, not attached to anything.
This was my solution.
I took out the battery box and could see a
pipe that originated from the clutch master cyl.
The pipe had a "barb" end. Looks like it came that way.
Removed old clamp, installed new. Leak fixed.
I went looking for a pressure bleeding device.
Ended up at Sears. They had a vacuum bleed device.
So instead of blowing to bleed the clutch, I ended up sucking!
Bleeding was relatively easy, hook a hose up to the
bleed nipple, crack to bleed "nut", fill the master cyl.,
pump the handle of the vacuum pump, keep filling the
master. After pulling out about a 1/2 pt., I closed the bleed screw,
slowly pressed the pedal a few times, re-filled the master,
open the bleed nut, suck on it some more while filling the master.
After a pint of fluid, I shut the bleed and removed the pump.
Clutch works great!!
Must be one of the easiest clutch problems that one can deal
with. Maybe it's my lucky day, it is my birthday!!
