No. 1 piston TDC is at the Woodruff key on the crank shaft at 12 o'clock. At the same time the cam shaft has a mark to match the cam holddown at No. 1 piston.
Did you remove the drivetrain? You must remove the sump pan if you are doing it in-car. To remove the sump pan if must remove the exhaust pipe. I doubt you can successfuly fit the timing cover back up properly without removing the sump pan doing it in-car. The cover is sandwiched between the pan and the head.
Make sure you tighten the crank pulley to 129 ft-lbs afterwards. A loose crank pulley spells disaster.
