My stock answer - if you have to ask, the answer is no.

Of course it's possible to add a turbo. The only question is it worth it?

The two ends of the spectrum are to add just a turbo to an otherwise stock NA engine. With no other modifications, and by limiting turbo boost, it will work. Will it be as good as a stock turbo? No. But it will provide some boost.

Then come other changes to help - like the right fuel system, APC, ECU, pistons, etc. That's the other end of the spectrum - A complete re-creation of a stock turbo engine with the wiring harness, ECU, APC plumbing, intercooler, fuel system - the works.

Back to my answer. Plenty of folks have put turbos on NA engines. A smaller but still significant number of folks have done it successfully, where successful is defined as more power, decent drivability, and longevity past a week.

What differentiates the successes from the failures? Knowledge. Folks that say it's easy in general are pretty knowledgeable about this stuff. If you have to ask if it's possible, then you don't know what components should be changed.

Also - if you're looking for a project, and have a car you don't care much about and are willing to make a hobby out of it - (spend more in time and money than you would if you just bought one) - then by all means, go for it. If you're looking for a cheap way to get a turbo, then sell your car and buy a Saab turbo - it'll be cheaper, run better, and take much less time and effort.
