It definitely sounds likely that the subframe has moved - it's almost impossible for it not to once it's loosened. And as you suspect, moving the subframe is a trick sometimes used to help bring the front end into alignment. It's probably not in the wrong place because you overtightened the bolts, it just moved when it was loose, so it was in a slightly different position when you tightened it up again.

You definitely DO NOT want to drive the car with the subframe bolts loose - the result can be anything from occasional clunking noises to an accident. If you're unsure about the tension, consult a manual for the proper torque, then loosen and re-torque them one at a time.

If there's a groove in the A/C fan casing, that says to me that the fan was probably hitting before you did this. The blades can't make a groove if they're not moving! Maybe what you did made things worse, but they weren't right to begin with.

Best thing to do would be first take the car to a good shop for an alignment, which it probably needs now that the subframe has been moved. Then, either go to a body shop or find a friend with bodywork experience, and figure out a way to stop that fan from hitting *without moving the subframe*.
