Bent banjo fitting bolt in fuel filter...now what?>>>

Like I said before, it's always the "easy" things that cause the most grief!!!!!
While trying to remove the rear banjo fitting from the fuel filter (the larger (19mm) inlet one), it would not budge. No matter how much muscle I put into it, it would not give up. It eventualy wound up starting to crush the outside of the filter itself, causing the banjo fitting bolt to start to bend towards the way I was pulling on it. Of course, this now causes fuel to leak out since the gasket is partially exposed. I was doing everything correctly, so I know it was not mechanic-error. I've done these many times (though, this is the first time on this particular Saab).
The front fitting came off with no problems. I made sure dozens of times that I was turning the rear bolt the correct way (pulling towards the passenger side).
I'm now at the point that I think it will have to be towed to an indie to see what he can do with it.
Any suggestions before I wind up spending a fortune on something that should have been easy and cheap (esp. since I got the new Bosch filter at a steal off eBay)?
TIA
Joe
