a.k.a turbo bypass valve. The stalls after gas pedal is "suddenly" released indicates mostly a defective by-pass valve. The original valve is kind of consumable thingee as spark plugs, brake pads, DI casette etc. and needs to be replaced every now and then. More robust ("tuning") valves also exist.
The valve "sits" on the intake tube that in most of the models is metal. It has bigger hose that goes to instake tube just "before" the turbo and small "control" hose that eventually ends up to intake manifold.
Check the valve by sucking the air from the small control hose connector. It should hold the vacuum. If you cannot feel any vacuum build-up and just get "gasoline" fumed air then the bypass valve needs to be replaced.
The valve is both aftermarket and dealer stuff,,,
