what you call a CSi will be a normally-aspirated (n/a), non-turbo engined car, probably with a relatively low equipment specification - ie. it's unlikely to have leather, sunroof, 16" wheels and so forth. It may have been specified without automatic climate control. None of this may matter to you, of course!

As a CS anything, it should be the "new" shape five-door with low front end and the high-level brake lights above the rear hatch, but in 1972 these were just coming in and one sees J-reg cars (and K-reg ones) of either shape. The old ones are just marked 9000, or they could be 9000S or SE or whatever. I think the engine could be either 2 or 2.3 litres but this should be obvious once you open the bonnet (because it's written on the camshaft cover). The lack of a turbo will also be apparent if you look down at the front of the engine, where the exhaust downpipe goes.

Because you are in full-fledged geek territory on this board, the usefulness of the replies you get will increase with the level of information you provide! Bear in mind too that US specifications are often different: for instance I think I'm right in saying a US-spec CSE will always have a 2.3 engine, while in the UK you could mix and match rather more.

Personally, I would not pay very much money for a J-registered CS with no turbo but as with most things, it all depends where you want to end up.
