In any given week is this topic touched upon. It is completely essential AND necessary to use NGK plugs in the 9000 that has a DI cassette. Let's hope that the cassette is not dying now due to the wrong plugs being used.

The system uses those plugs to monitor combustion "health". It's what the computer uses to avoid detonation and knock, which will severely limit your boost and/or fluctuate it. And as I said above, using the wrong plugs could damage the cassette.

Definitely go out and get a fresh set of NGK-BCPR7ES and gap them to 1.10mm first. Then drive a few days and see how everything feels. If not perfect, re-gap plugs to 1.00mm and test again. If still not perfect, then go as low as 0.90mm. Each engine is different as to where it likes the plug gap. You should make it a habit of checking the gap at 5K miles, and then replacing the plugs at 10K - 12K miles.

One other thought to your problem: using injector cleaner is a sensitive subject on this board. Some people swear by it, while others say don't ever use it. My experience in the past was detrimental--> I used Saab injector cleaner in my '88 900S (when I owned it), and the next day, after driving 100 miles to work, I was stranded since it would not start. I had to rent a room since I needed to be in the area again the following day. The car started the next day, but ran terrible. It turns out that the cleaner cleaned a little too good and sent junk into one or more of the injectors, and somehow this junk eventually disappeared, but it took over a week for the engine to return to normal performance.
