Well a few of the things were my doing from all the HP, namely the transmisison and clutch, but even those lasted 250000km (ok the clutch lasted 160K) with over 150K being modified.
The ABS and master cylinder had to be replaced after a botched tire shop job when they thought hte rear caliper was frozen (hmm it felt fine;-), and they replaced that but lead and re pressurized the system without the ignition on, and damaged the MS (well it started to leak from then on!)
the headgasket was soon after I bought the car from the previous owner that mentioned he had a over heating problem. It also had cracked CV boots at that time...other things were preventative like the control arm bushings (slightly dried and craked)
so yes there have been problems, but for the most part it has been a great car that has taken me all over north America in the last 6 years.
I like to play with the car when I have time, and it is nice to be able to replace a $5 seal by myself while saving $200 by not taking it to the dealer. I little sense of satisfaction.
I'm not a person that is to paranoied, but being left stranded 2 times in the last 3 weeks has given me a wake-up call that I di indeed have a 15 year old car, no mater how smooth it runs and nice it looks!
I'll take a look at the harmonic balancer, and the wheel wells. I don't think I've had any problem with that, but for kicks I'll take a look.
