First - decide what is happening. Is compressor engaged when it gets hot? To test run a small light/LED from clutch wire on compressor from under the bonnet through the door seal and hang it while driving. If light stays on then compressor is engaged. If cycles on and off, look for gas leak as it may be cycling on the low pressure control. Do not discount high pressure caused from a blocked filter dryer. If a HP control is fitted the light will also cycle on and off. You can eliminate each cause one at a time. Many compressors do lose efficency in the reed/flapper valve on the head plate but look for the obvious first. The front seal of most brands of compressors is always suspect after 100klm. If you had a gas leak the temp would just get more and more warm as the days go on. Check the sight glass on the filter dryer for an indication of gas leak if the car has a larger condenser fitted to accept R134a gas.(as we do in Aust)See what you come up with.
