Just conjecture. I assumed the computer checks by resistance because what other way is there? I figured it looks at how much current goes there and if there isn't enough (because the coil is broken and the resistance is up) then it thinks the valve is fried.
HYPOTHETICAL: Sure, you could put a 30 ohm resistor there. Then the computer would always think the valve is fine. Then when the system glitches somewhere else, it tries to go LHM but the LHM cable doesn't engage. But it thinks it's in LHM so it won't use the stepper in the TB to open the butterfly. So you have no control over the throttle and probably can't even start the car. I guess a resistor bypass would work if your LHM is caused by the safety valve. I wouldn't leave it that way though - what happens if you get a problem where the stepper drives the TB open, computer detects it and tries to go LHM, but the safety valve is bypassed? Now the TB is open and you have no way to close it.... well you wanted to find out how fast the car would go anyways right? I figure there's a reason for the safety valve....
Maybe someone with a broken valve could bypass it and see what happens!!!
Not me, mine works fine (gggg)
