All hail liquid wrench and a long wrench handle!

Well, it's done. I think I must have been particularly lucky, as the lower bolts didn't proove to be too bad. They were tough, but with some liquid wrench and a long handled driver they did come off with considerable, but not superhuman effort.
The real trick, for me, was getting the old shock out of the wheel well on the (US) driver's side. If it hadn't been worn out to the point where I could compress it with my own muscle power, it might still be in there. Well, acutally; I would have just had to take the wheel off - but I was trying to not do that.
The car rides a TON better now, and the back end doesn't seem to 'float' all over the road nearly as much. I think I probably still need to renew the front ball joints and tie-rod ends to clear up the remaining slop in the suspension; but the back end should be good for now.
